Cochin - Munnar - Thekkady - Kumarakom - Houseboat - Cochin
(7 Nights - 8 Days)
Day 1: Arrival Cochin (35 km-1 hrs)
On
arrival at the airport/railway station in Cochin, you will be met &
transfered to hotel. After lunch go across the Cochin Harbour, which
takes you to the gateway of the Arabian Sea. On arrival at Fort Cochin,
proceed on a sight seeing tour, which includes a visit to the Dutch
Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Chinese Fishing nets etc.
Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Cochin.
Day 2: Cochin - Munnar (150 km-4.5 hrs)
After
an early morning breakfast, check out from the hotel & embark on a
fascinating journey to Munnar enjoying the stunning panoramic view of
the Cardamom hills & green carpets of tea plantations enroute. On
arrival, check in at hotel/ resort. Spend the rest of the day at
leisure trekking around the estate. Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 3: Munnar
A
morning sight seeing trip of Munnar; visiting the Eravikulam National
Park where you can see the very rare mountain goats locally called the
Nilgiri Tahr, the Mattupetty Dam & Dairy Farm, Old Munnar Town, the
town market etc. Rest of the day at leisure & enjoy another
overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 4: Munnar - Thekkady (120 km-4 hrs)
After
an early breakfast, check out from the hotel & proceed to the
wildlife sanctuary at Periyar/Thekkady & check in at the
hotel/resort. Go on an evening game viewing cruise on the Periyar Lake.
Here you will be able to see a large variety of wildlife, which include
elephants, monkeys, deer, wild boar etc, & quite a lot of unique
birds can also be spotted. Later, come back to the hotel; relax &
enjoy your stay overnight.
Day 5: Thekkady - Kumarakom (130 km-4 hrs)
Early
morning drive down to Kumarakom; view the scenic picturesque landscapes
on your way. Check in at the hotel/ resort on the banks of the Vembanad
Lake. Spend the evening at leisure & stay overnight at the resort.
Day 6: Houseboat - Alleppey
After
breakfast proceed to Alleppey. Check-in at the houseboat which will
take you to enjoy the magic of Alleppey-Kumarakom by going on a
Houseboat (Kettuvallam) cruise across the backwaters. Spend the next 24
hours in your floating villa. Enjoy the backwaters of Kerala by getting
a glimpse of the village life at close quarters; a unique &
unforgettable experience. Enjoy the sunset & stay overnight on the

Day 7: Alleppey - Cochin (100 kms-3 hrs)

Day 1: Delhi
Welcome on arrival at Delhi and transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Delhi
After
breakfast, tour the historic city of old Delhi to include the
magnificent Red Fort, Jama Masjid, largest mosque in Asia, both built
by Shahjahan, Rajghat-memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, the "Father of the
Nation". Afternoon, tour of New Delhi to include Humanyun Tomb, Qutab
Minar, India Gate, Birla Mandir, Bahai Temple. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Delhi - Patna
Depart
for airport for early morning flight to 2500 year old ancient city of
Patna. On arrival at Patna transfer to hotel. Afternoon excursion to
Vaishali where Lord Buddha preached his last sermon announcing his
approaching Nirvana. Visit stupas holding urns containing ashes of
Buddha and Ashok pillar erected by Emperor Ashoka to mark places
sanctified by Buddha. The place is also known now for famous Madhubani
paintings. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Patna
Morning
drive down to Rajgir (102 kms / 2 hrs & 30 mins) capital of 6th
century Magadha empire. It was revered site of Buddhas discourses.
Buddha spent many years here. Visit Gridhrakula, Sapataparni cave,
Ajatsatru fort and Venuvana. Afternoon visit Nalanda - the world's
oldest university founded in the 5th century. Also visit monasteries
and temples with impressive Buddhist & Hindu images. The Institute
for research into Buddhism and Pali literature which houses rare
manuscripts, is also worth visiting for the enthusiasts. Archaeological
musuem is also not to be missed for the rare collections. Overnight at
hotel.
Day 5: Bodhgaya
Early
morning after breakfast depart for Bodhgaya (193 kms / 4 hrs & 30
mins) by road. Enroute visit Baraliar caves - the earliest examples of
rock cut caves. Most impressive craftmanship of carving and rock
inscription ca be seen. These caves served as inspiration for the
setting of E.M Foresters "A Passage to India". Arrive Bodhgaya and
overnight in the hotel.
Day 6: Bodhgaya
Bodhgaya
is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage centres. It was here that
Gautama attained enlightenment and became Buddha under the "Bodhi" tree
Satabodhi temple, Japanese and Tibetan monasteries alongwith Magadha
university musuem are also to be visited. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7: Bodhgaya - Varanasi
Early
morning after breakfast depart for Varanasi (243 kms / 6 hrs) by road
(if one so desires one can go by train to Varanasi for Gaya). Arrive by
afternoon and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit ghats and temples and
Benaras Hindu University. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8: Varanasi
Early
morning boat ride on river Ganges to see the beautiful sunrise at

Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi and meet the ITS representative at the arrival hall and transfer to hotel. Relax & overnight in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi
Morning
tour of Old Delhi: visit the majestic Red Fort, the historical Chandni
Chowk, besides Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana. Afternoon tour of New Delhi,
visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the one-time imperial residence of the
British viceroys; the India Gate, a memorial raised in honour of the
Indian soldiers martyred during the Afghan war; the Laxmi Narayan
Temple, built by the Birlas, one of India's leading industrial
families; Qutab Minar, built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave
Dynasty; and the lotus-shaped Bahai Temple. Evening free at leisure,
overnight in Delhi.
Day 3: Delhi - Gwalior (By train)
After
breakfast depart by Shatabdi Express for Gwalior - the pearl of
Hindustan. Assistance on arrival transfer to hotel. Later take a sight
seeing tour visiting the imposing and magnificent Gwalior Fort made of
sandstone, visit Man Mandir a six-towered palace. In the afternoon
visit the enormous, 19th century Jai Vilas Palace. This Palace is
famous for its ornate chandeliers & crystal. Also visit the, Gujari
Mahal, the Tomb of Muhammad Ghaus, a saint worshipped by the Mughals
& the Tomb of the famous musician Tansen. Overnight in Gwalior.
Day 4: Gwalior - Agra (110 km - 2 hours)
In
the morning, take the road towards Agra, the old imperial capital of
India. It has some superb monuments dating from that era. Afternoon,
visit the historical Red Fort where lived three Mughals Emperors. Each
one left there its print, sandstone red of Akbar and Jehangir, white
marble of Jahan Shah. This fort rises on the edges of Yamuna; it is
surrounded by wall 20 meters high and 2500 m in perimeter. Overnight in
Agra.
Day 5: Agra
In
the morning visit the world famous Taj Mahal, whose eternal beauty will
astonish and mesmerize the visitors. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built
Taj Mahal in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631.
Thereafter visit the Visit the beautiful mausoleum of the tomb of
Itmad-Ud-Daula, the first monument in India to feature Persian mosaic
style inlay work or "Pietra Dura" Greatly resembling the Taj in its use
of inlay on white marble, and is known as the "mini-Taj". Evening free
to visit the handicraft market of Agra. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Agra - Fatehpur - Sikri - Jaipur (230 kms - 5 hours)
In
the morning we begin our Journey to the princely state of Rajasthan.
Enroute visit of Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned city built by Akbar, his
capital for 14 years. Thereafter proceed for the ornithological reserve
of Keoladeo Ghana, the sanctuary of the birds, and paradise of the
ornithologists. Walk in rickshaws in the reserve. Thereafter we
continue our journey to Jaipur the capital of Rajasthan also called the
Pink City. Steeped in history and culture, this city is known for its
magnificent Palaces and forts; broad avenues and spacious gardens.
Jaipur with its romantic charm takes you to an epoch of royalty and
tradition., Arrive and proceed to the Hotel. Evening a panoramic city
tour of JAIPUR. Thereafter have a joyful rickshaw ride in this quaint
city. Overnight.
Day 7: Jaipur
Morning
excursion to Amber Fort, the ancient capital of the Rajput Empire
rulers, perched atop the hill overlooking the lake. Ascend to this
hilltop fort in Maharajah style. by decorated Elephant. Visit the
beautiful complex of palaces including inlaid mirror palace, halls,
pavilions, gardens and the famous Kali temple. In the Afternoon, city
tour of JAIPUR, visiting the City Palace- the Royal residence of
Maharajah built in Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, Hawa Mahal" the
Palace of Wind & the Observatory of the 18th century. Thereafter,
have a Walk in the bustling bazaars of Jaipur, well known for their
beautiful carpets, enamelled ornaments, precious and semi-precious
stones, brass ornaments and many other arts and crafts. Overnight at
the hotel.
Day 8: Jaipur - Samode (50 kms - 1 hour)
In
the morning, drive towards Sanganer known for its blue pottery and
colorful hand made paper. Visit an old Jain Temple there. Then
continuation towards the old caravan city of Samode locked up in its
walls and dominated by the castle. On arrival transfer to Samode Palace
Hotel, later visit the Palace, the Sheesh Mahal- the hall of mirrors.
Late afternoon take camel cart ride to explore the Samode Fort and the
semi desert village of Samode, evening free to relax at the Palace
Hotel, overnight in Samode.
Day 9 : Samode - Mandawa (125 kms - 3 hours)
In
the morning we drive to Shekhawati also called the " open air art
gallery of Rajasthan. The region known for it's splendid painted
"Havelis" or merchant's mansions decorated with superb mural frescos.
Arrive and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon visit of the
Shekhawati to see different Havelis with fascinating murals each better
than the other, built by the wealthy Rajasthani merchants ("Marwaris")
in the 19th Century. Early evening one can visit neighboring villages
to see Roop Niwas Palace in Nawalgarh & Dundlod Fort in Dundlod.
Enjoy live folk dance & music in the courtyard of the hotel
followed by dinner. Overnight in Mandawa.
Day 10: Mandawa - Delhi (275 kms - 5 hours)
Morning
drive to Delhi, on arrival transfer to hotel, rest of the day is kept
free for last minute souvenir shopping in Delhi. After farewell dinner

Day 1: Flight to India
Around
Midnight arrival in Delhi. The cosmopolitan City and capital Delhi is
the main gateway for travelers. You are met by an Vinayak Holidays
representative and transferred to your Hotel.
Day 2: Old - New Delhi
This
morning is at leisure. Afternoon sightseeing in Old Delhi. We take a
Riksha Ride parallel to the red fort through the old city and famous
Silk Road and Silver Bazaar. Sightseeing of Old Delhi includes also the
site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated; Jama Masjid and the great
mosque of old Delhi.Today We also visit the famous "Humayun's Tomb"
which is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India
and "Kutab Minar" which is 71 meter high and was constructed in
1199.Before we proceed to the Hotel we have a drive through New Delhi
where we see the India Gate, Government Buildings and Embassies.
Day 3: Delhi - Shekhawati (270 km)
In
the morning we visit "Kutab Minar" which is 71 meter high and consists
of five stories. In 1199 work began on this tower which was intended to
be the most glorious tower of victory in the world. This tower was
damaged twice and repaired in 1326 and 1368.After the sightseeing of
Delhi we drive to Shekhawati region. Arrival in Shekhawati in the late
evening.
Day 4: Shekhawati - Khimsar (275 km)
In
the morning we visit the grand havellis of the Shekhawati area.
Shekhawati is a region of NE of Rajasthan and is the homeland of
marwaris. The marwaris form one of the most important merchant and
business groups in India, they developed their business acumen on the
trade routes between Delhi and the coast between India and Central
Asia. Marwaris enjoyed protections by Maharajas and many of them built
grand havellis.The hovels are mansions, elaborately and attractively
decorated with a strong main entrance. The walls are often covered with
murals, local legends and religious scenes from Hindu Mythology.In the
after noon we arrive at Khimsar. Khimsar is famous for its Fort of 18th
century which is now one of the best hotel in the country. This fort is
well preserved like a royal manor and is spread over eleven acres of
sprawaling lawns, orchard & open courtyard. After the check in and
evening tea we proceed for a jeep safari in the dessert to Black Buck
reserve.
Day 5: Khimsar - Bikaner (155 km)
After
the breakfast we proceed to Bikaner. After a short break in Bikaner we
visit the Junagarh Fort (1571-1611 AD) constructed of red sandstone and
marble with kiosks and balconies embellishing the structure at
intervals. This imposing Fort and its palaces are an unforgettable
experience for us.
Day 6: Bikaner - Osian - Jaisalmer (330 km)
Today
we drive through the desert and proceed for Jaisalmer via Osian.Osian
is a great centre of Hindu and Jain religions. The oldest Temple here

Jaisalmer some of the antelopes of this region. Blackbuck and fast
running chinkara are the most common among them.We have a stop enroute
at a village to observe the traditional life of the villages in
Rajasthan.We arrive in Jaisalmer in the late evening.
Day 7: Jaisalmer
Sightseeing
of the medieval city of Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer's crenellated golden
sandstone walls and its narrow streets lined with exquisitely carved
buildings makes this city unique. Jaisalmer is famous for its carved
havellis (grand mensions).In medieval times, its prosperity was due to
its location on the main trade route linking India to Egypt, Arabia,
Africa and the West. Jaisalmer is a marvel of beautiful culture and
this city remains one of the most exotic city not only in Rajasthan but
in the whole of India. Some of the visitors called this city "a living
museum".We have a walk through the old city and visit the Fort and the
Jain temple. In the afternoon we drive around 40 km. Away from
Jaisalmer to sam dunes where we enjoy the sunset before we drive back
to Jaisalmer.
Day 8: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (290 km)
Early
morning drive to Jodhpur. The city was once the capital of the princely
state of Marwar (Land of death). Jodhpur is the second largest city in
Rajasthan. Jodhpur is also known as the blue city as most of the houses
of the old city are painted blue. The old city is surrounded by a huge
10 km long wall which has 101 bastions and seven gates.Jodhpur lies on
the once strategic Delhi-Gujrat trading route and the marwaris
benefited from the passing traffic of opium, copper, silk which was
traded to China. We will visit the Mehrangarh Fort(majestic fort).
Mehrangarh Fort was built on a steep hill and is among the best in
India with exquisitely latticed windows in residential apartments
within. We also visit the Jaswant Thada, a royal cenotaph built in
white marble.After the sightseeing we have a walk through the Bazaars
of Jodhpur.
Day 9: Jodhpur - Ranakpur - Udaipur (260 km)
Today
we drive to Udaipur. Enroute we will visit Ranakpur.Ranakpur is known
for its superbly carved marble Jain Temples. An enormous basement of
this temple covers 48,000 sq. feet. There are four subsidiary shrines,
twenty four pillared halls. The total number of columns is 1,444, all
of which are intricately carved, no two being alike. The Ranakpur Jain
Temples were built during the 15th century.We have a break in Ranakpur
before proceeding further for Udaipur. Udaipur is called the romantic
city of Rajasthan. A city built around shimmering, clear, blue water
lakes which reflect the green hills of the Aravali ranges.
Day 10: Udaipur
Today
we visit Udaipur, also known as the city of sunrise.We start our
sightseeing with the visit of Sahelion-Ki-Bari. This Garden of the
Maids of Honour is well laid out with extensive lawns and shady walks.
After the visit of Garden of Maids we visit a Museum of folk art. This
museum has a rich collection of Folk dresses, ornaments, puppets,
masks, dolls, folk musical instruments and paintings on display. After
a break we proceed to city palace, the biggest Palace in India, where 4
generations of Maharajas added their contribution, is so carefully
planned and integrated with the original buildings that it is difficult
to believe that it was not conceived as a whole.The museum of the
palace includes the beautiful peacock mosaic and miniature wall
paintings of Indian mythology. Today we have an opportunity to visit a
traditional painting school and see the famous miniature paintings
done.In the evening we have a Boatride on the lake Pichola.The famous
Lake Palace of Udaipur was the summer residence of the former rulers.
The James bond Film Octopussy was shot here and made this palace more
known in the west.
Day 11: Udaipur - Deogarh (200 km)
Today
we take leave from the city of sunrise and drive to Deogarh. In Deogarh
we enjoy the overnight stay in a Maharaja Palace which has been
converted into a Hotel. We have the rest of the day at leisure and
therefore enough time to relax and have a walk in the Bazaar of this
small town.
Day 12: Deogarh - Jaipur (280 km)
Today
we drive to the Pink City Jaipur, this city owes its name, foundations
and careful planning to the great warrior and astronomer, Maharaja
Sawai Jai Singh II. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and famous for
its handicrafts and precious and semiprecious stones.After a break in
Jaipur we visit the city palace in the afternoon which is still the
formal residence of the royal family, built in a blend of the
Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. In the museum of the city palace we
visit the private collection of the Jaipur Mahrajas. We continue to
Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory, the largest of Jai Singh's five
remarkable observatories. It's complex instruments reveals us the
secrets of medieval Indian astronomy.
Day 13: Jaipur
After
breakfast we drive to the ancient capital of Amber, laying 11 km. away
from Jaipur. Amber was the ancient capital of Kachhawaha dynasty for 6
centuries before it was moved to newly created Jaipur. We will ascend
to the Palace Fortress on the back of an Elephant. Enroute to Amber we
will visit the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), built in 1799 AD, it
contains 953 small casements with each having its own balcony. The
windows enabled cool air to circulate and the ladies to watch
processions below without being seen.In the afternoon we have a walk
through the colourful Bazaar of Jaipur and visit a factory to see the
famous block printing work being done since centuries in Jaipur.In the
evening we drive through the new city of Jaipur and visit "Laxmi
Narayan Mandir", a Hindu temple made out of white marble. We might have
an opportunity here to observe a prayer ceremony. Today we have dinner
with a presentation of Indian music and dance.
Day 14: Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra (260 km)
Today
we leave Rajasthan, the biggest state in India and drive through a
series of fields, small towns and villages in direction of Agra.
Enroute we make a stop and visit Fatehpur Sikri, which was once an
imperial capital frozen in time, constructed by Akbar the Great in the
16th century. This wonderful city constructed by red sand stones was
abandoned as abruptly as it had been built. It has been generally
stated that it was due to failing in the water supply.Late evening
arrival in Agra. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 15: Agra
We
start today our sightseeing by a visit to the Agra Fort, built by three
of the greatest Mughal emperors. The construction of this massive
structure began in 1565 under Akbar's reign and continued till the time
of his grandson's reign, Shahjahan who built the impressive imperial
quarters and mosque.After the visit of Agra Fort we proceed to visit
the most beautiful monument of India, the Taj Mahal, an enduring
monument to love, with a continually fulfilling beauty. It was built by
the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1631-52, as a tomb and memorial
to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal (Jewel of the Palace), who died at the
age of 39 giving birth to her 14th child. We spend enough time at Taj
Mahal to take this impressive memory home. After the visit of Taj Mahal
we have a look at the famous fine marble inlay work which is still
being done in Agra by the descendants of the families of builders and
artists of the Taj Mahal.

Day 3: Jaisalmer
Founded
by Rawal Jaisal in the twelfth century, Jaisalmer evokes a vivid
picture of sheer magic and brilliance of the desert and is today one of
Rajasthan's best-loved tourist destinations. Local color and warmth
prevail over the inhospitable and forbidding terrain, imbuing the
medieval town with a special magic. The yellow sandstone fort is an
imposing sight, towering majestically over the city. The nearby
shifting sand dunes of Sam remind you of Sahara Desert.
Day 4: Jodhpur
Famous
for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort built in mid 15th century by Rao
Jodha, the founder of the city, Jodhpur is the second largest city of
Rajasthan. Part of the Desert Tourist Triangle, the old Jodhpur city is
surrounded by a 10 Km long wall with eight gates serving as entrances
and the new city is settled around this walled area. Jodhpur houses
grand palaces like the Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal and the Phool Mahal. In
these exquisite palaces, forts, temples and havelis, the genius of its
sculptors comes to life and stand as a testimony to the imperial
grandeur of the city. The Umaid Bhawan Palace hotel is said to be the
biggest private residence of single individual.
Day 5: Morning: Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambhor)
Sawai
Madhopur plays host to the Ranthambor wildlife sanctuary that houses
the Indian tiger. It is the best place to see these majestic predators
in their normal pursuits. The park is also home to 300 species of birds
and hyena, ratel, jackal and fox among other species. There are Lake
Palaces, chhatris, old fortifications and a majestic 1,000-year-old
fort overlooking the park. The lovely Jogi Mahal is located at the foot
of the fort and gives magnificent view of the Padam Talao, painted
white with water lilies.
Day 5: Evening: Chittorgarh
Chittaurgarh
owes its name to the women of the city who performed 'jauhar' or
immolated themselves to escape the designs of foreign conquerors.
Legends of valor and chivalry surround the majestic Chittaurgarh fort.
Day 6: Udaipur
Udaipur
is better known as the 'city of lakes'. One of the most romantic places
in India, it is situated around the shimmering clear blue water lakes,
which whisper the mood of a bygone era. The two most famous lakes are
Pichola and Udai Sagar. The city also has beautiful palaces, the Jag
Niwas (Lake Palace), and the Jag Mandir, which appears to rise as if
from the blue waters of the lake Pichola. Udaipur is also famous for
its miniature paintings.
Day 7: Morning: Agra
Meaning
paradise in Sanskrit, Agra is a place made famous by the Taj Mahal, a
moment that has come to epitomes love. Built by Shah Jahan in memory of
his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, it is one of the most visited and photographed
sights in the world. Also famous for its marble showrooms.
Day 7: Afternoon: Bharatpur
Bharatpur
is famous for its bird sanctuary, the nesting place for thousands of
Egrets, Siberian cranes, migratory water Fowl and other species of
birds.
Day 8: Delhi
After early breakfast, a week in wonderland comes to an end.
Delhi - Joshimath - Auli - Rishikesh - Delhi
(7 Nights - 8 Days)
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive
Delhi. Transfer to hotel. Sight seeing trip of Delhi visiting Humayun's
Tomb, the Qutub Minar, the Red Fort and the great Jama Masjid - the
biggest mosque in India. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Leopard Beach Tented Camp
Depart
Delhi for Leopard Beach Tented Camp, a distance of about 250 km. Lunch
on arrival. Camp orientation talk and briefing of the day's plan. Post
lunch at leisure/ kayaking around camp/ beach activities/ rafting
session. O/n in camp.
Day 3: Drive to Joshimath
After
an early breakfast, drive to Joshimath (270 km) on a mountainous road
along the Ganga river and later by the Alaknanda. Take the 3.9 kms
cable car (the longest in Asia) to the scenic and picturesque Auli Ski
resort. Overnight at Auli Tourist Bungalow (3049 m).
Day 4 - 6: 3 Days At Auli
Skiing
at Auli on a full board basis. All skiing equipment will be provided.
There is one poma lift and one chair car at the Auli ski resort.
Instruction is provided by qualified instructors. The ski slopes
command a panoramic view of high Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi (
7818 m).
Day 7: Drive to Rishikesh
Drive
back to Rishikesh. Evening sight seeing trip of the many temples,
ashrams and yoga centers in Rishikesh. Overnight in Rishikesh.
Day 8: Drive to Delhi
Drive back to Delhi arriving by lunch time. Evening depart for onward destination.
Day 1: Srinagar - Sonmarg (125 kms)
On
arrival at Srinagar drive direct to Sonmarg. The distance of about 125
kms will be covered in about 4 hrs. Rest of the day free at Sonmarg for
acclimatization.
Day 2: Sonmarg - Baltal - Sonmarg - Srinagar (32 kms)
After
very early breakfast transfer to Baltat (45 minutes drive). From Baltal
you will go by Helocpter to Holy Amarnath cave for Darshan. Vsti Cave
and return back to Baltal and from Baltal direct drive to Srinagar.
Drive back to Srinagar. On arrival in Srinagar, transfer to Houseboats.
Evening free for leisure and shopping. Dinner and overnight in Deluxe
Houseboats.
Day 3: Srinagar
After breakfast time free till departure. Transfer by car to Srinagar airport for departure to next destination.
Day 1: Delhi - Haridwar (230 kms/6hrs)
Arrival
Delhi Railway Station, Meet & Assist further drive to Haridwar.
Later drive to Haridwar transfer to your Hotel. Visit Har-ki-Pauri for
Ganga Aarti in evening. Back to your hotel, Night halt.
Haridwar: Haridwar, lying at the feet of Shiva's hills, I.e.,
Shivaliks, in the Haridwar district of Uttaranchal Pradesh, is a
doorway. Suryavanshi prince Bhagirath performed penance here to salvage
the souls of his ancestors who had perished due to the curse of sage
Kapila. The penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled forth
forms Lord Shiva's locks and its bountiful water revived the sixty
thousand sons of king Sagara. In the traditional of Bhagirath, devout
Hindus stand in the sacred waters here, praying for salvation of their
departed elder. It is doorway to the sources of the Ganga and the
Yamuna, 3000 to 4500 meters up into the snowy ranges of the central
Himalayas. The 'Aarti' worship of the Ganga after sunset and the
floating 'dia' (lamp) is a moving ritual.
Temples & Sight Seeing - Har-ki-Pauri, Chandi Devi & Mansa Devi
Temple, Daksha Mahadev Temple, Bilkeshwar Mahadev, Anandmai Ashram,
Pawan Dham, Bhooma Niketan, Vaishno Devi Temple, Doodhadhari Temple

Day 2: Haridwar - Rudraprayag (160kms/5hr)
Morning visit Haridwar Local Sight Seeing, later drive to Rudraprayag enroute visit Deoprayag. Check in Hotel, night halt.
Rudraprayag: It is the confluence of river Mandakini and river Alaknanda.
Temples: Rudranath and Chamunda Devi, Koteshwar Temple (3 Kms).
Day 3: Rudraprayag - Kedarnath (75kms by road & 14kms Trek)
Morning
drive to Gaurikund, Trek start from Gaurikund to Kedarnath (3584 mts)
on foot or on by pony / Doli. Tour members should carry personal
medicines, heavy woolen, toiletries and clothes for an overnight halt
at Kedarnath. Check in Hotel. Later visit Kedarnath Temple. Night halt.
Gaurikund: At a distance of 5kms from Sonprayag and at an altitude of
1982 meters., one can take bath in the hot water pond here and visit
the Gauri Temple. This is the place where Goddess Parvathi meditated to
attain Lord Shiva. It is the base for a trek to Kedarnath.
Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord
Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic
Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and
the destroyer. According to legend, the Pandavas after having won over
the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their
own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He
eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in
the form of a bull. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving
his hump on the surface. The r! Emaining portions of Lord Shiva
appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his
manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath,
the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at
Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated
as Panch Kedar.
Day 4: Kedarnath - Rudraprayag (14Kms Down Trek & 75kms/3hr by Road)
Early
morning, after Temple Darshan trek down to Gaurikund. Later, drive to
Rudraprayag via Guptkashi. Check in Hotel at Rudraprayag. Night Halt.
Day 5: Rudraprayag - Badrinath (165kms/7hr)
Drive to Badrinath via Joshimath. Check in Hotel. Later at evening visit Badrinath Temple for Aarti. Overnight stay.
Badrinath one of the 'Four Dhams' is one of the most celebrated
pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of
3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known
as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a
splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild
berries. Thus the place got the name "Badri van", meaning "forest of
berries".
Tapt Kund : Natural thermal springs on the bank of the river Alaknanda,
where it is customary to bathe before entering the Badrinath temple.
Narad Kund : A recess in the river, near Tapt Kund, forming a pool from where the Badrinath idol was recovered.
Brahama Kapal : A flat platform on the bank of river Alaknanda. Hindus
perform proppitiating rites for their deceased ancestors.
Sheshnetra : 1.5kms. Away is a boulder having an impression of the legendary serpent, better known as the Sheshnag's eye.
Charanpaduka : 3kms. Away is a beautiful meadow where the footprint of Lord Vishnu is seen on a boulder.
Mata Murty Temple : Devoted to the mother of Sri Badrinathji. Other
important temples include Sesh Netra Temple, Urvashi Temple and
Charanpaduka.
Mana Village : Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet.
Vasundhara : As the name suggests, vasundhara is a magnificent
water fall. This place is 5 kms. from Badrinath out of which 2 kms. is
motorable upto Mana.
Bhim Pul : On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a
natural bridge, lies over the roaring Saraswati river. It presents a
spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage
under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the
second eldest among the five Pandava brothers.
Vyas Gufa (cave) : Near Mana Village, this is a rock-cave where Ved
Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata and the pauranic
commentaries.
Day 6: Badrinath - Joshimath (44kms/3hr)
Early
morning, pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan
of Badrivishal. Brahamakamal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of
ancestors (Pitrus). There are other interesting sight seeing spot like
Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the "Mukh" of
the Saraswati River. Just within the three kms of Badrinathjee. Later
drive back to Joshimath. Check in Hotel. Overnight stay at Joshimath.
Joshimath is situated on the slopes above the confluence of Alaknanda
and Dhauliganga. Of the four 'Maths' established by Adi Shankaracharya,
Joshimath is in the Badrinath to Joshimath and installed in the temple
for people to worship. There are many temples in the township most
important is the temple of Nir Singh in commotion of Lord Vishnu. The
left arm of this deity is with time and the popular belief holds that
the day the the arm completely withers Badrinath valley will cease to
exist and the Gods will transfer the residence into the neighboring
Niti Valley at Bhavishya Badri. Joshimath is connected by regular bus
service to Rishikesh, Haridwar, Badrinath and many other centres in the
region
Day 7: Joshimath - Rishikesh (254kms/8hr)
Early morning, visit Narsingh Temple & Shankracharaya Math. Later, Drive back to Rishikesh. Check in Hotel. Overnight stay.
Rishikesh, the 'place of sages' is a celebrated spiritual town on
the bank of Ganga and is surrounded by Shivalik range of the Himalayas
on three sides. It is said that when Raibhya Rishi did hard penances,
God appeared by the name of " Hrishikesh " and this area hence firth
came to be known as Rishikesh.
Temples & Sight Seeing - Laxman Jhulla, Ram Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Bharat Mandir, Shivananda Ashram, Parmarth Ashram..
Day 8: Rishikesh - Delhi (230kms/7hr)
Morning,
visit Rishikesh Local Sight seeing & Temples. Later drive back to
Delhi. On Arr. Delhi, transfer to Railway Station / Airport. Tour
Terminate.
Day 1: Chennai
Arrive
Chennai - the gateway to southern India, established in 1639 by the
East India Company, is one of the oldest cities of the country.
Assistance and transfer to hotel Aruna. Afternoon city tour, visiting
Gandhi Memorial, Kala Kshetra, Mylapore temple and Marine beach.
Day 2: Chennai (Excursion - Tirupati, 154 kms/ 3.5 hrs)
Drive
to Tirupati - the ancient temple of Lord Venkateswara (Lord of seven
hills or Balaji, as he is affectionately known) on the top of the 860
mts high Tirumala hills. The temple of Lord Venkateswara is not only
believed to be amongst the oldest temples in the country, but also the
richest of them all. Legend has it that Lord Venkateswara borrowed
money from the divine treasurer Kubera for his wedding expenses. He is
still paying back this debt which is why the pilgrims donate generously
to the temple funds. In the evening return to Chennai for overnite stay.
